School announces registration
BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. – The Burgettstown Area Elementary Center will hold registration for the 2014-2015 kindergarten or those entering school for the first time in the first grade from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 5-6 at the elementary center located at 100 Bavington Road.
Those children whose last names begin with A to M will be registered March 5, and those children whose last names begin with N to Z will be registered March 6.
To be eligible, a child must be 5 years old by Aug. 31. Parents must bring an official birth certificate, proof of residency and immunization records. Immunizations should include three dose of hepatitis B vaccine, two doses of measles or measles, mumps and rubella vaccine, four doses of tetanus and diphtheria vaccine, three doses of polio vaccine and two doses of chicken pox vaccine. A physical and dental exam must be completed before the first day of school; appropriate forms will be provided at registration. Children do not need to accompany their parents or guardians to registration.
Children must live in the Burgettstown Area School District to be registered. Registration will not be accepted unless all records are furnished.
Those parents who request specific restrictions involving custody or guardian issues must present an official court order defining those restrictions.
