Library announces activities
WEIRTON – Martin and Delia Wach will give a workshop on sustainable urban gardening at 1 p.m. Friday at Mary H. Weir Public Library’s activity room located at 3442 Main St.
They also will give a workshop on writing children’s books from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 3 in the activity room.
Other upcoming events at the library include:
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, movie night with popcorn, featuring “The Smurfs 2.”
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 10, Dr. Seuss Celebrity Read Night. Mayor George Kondik and other celebrity readers will read Seuss. Those attending are invited to dress in their favorite Dr. Seuss gear.
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 17, Deb Marino and Weir High School students presents “Perchance to Dream.”
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 24, movie night, featuring “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.”
10 a.m. to noon June 16, Michael Albert will be making collages with cereal boxes. Those participating are asked to bring three empty cereal boxes featuring bright colors. Everyone will take home a collage. Call the library to register.
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 8, Mark Kistler will hold a learn how to draw in three dimensions. Those participating are asked to bring pencils, erasers and a drawing tablet. Call the library to register.
There are six openings for children 3 to 5 years old at the 10 a.m. story hour on Tuesday mornings. Themes for the remainder of the story hour include pirates, frogs and dancing giraffes, cowboys and cowgirls, oceans and sea creatures, space exploration, rain forest, monsters and mud pies and flowers and bugs in the garden.
