Women of Harmony review projects

The Mingo Junction Women of Harmony members held their March meeting in the church’s social hall with President Mary Joy VanDyne presiding.

The meeting was opened with prayer and readings by Ethel Kerwood, including “Like a Hypocrite” taken from Our Daily Bread devotional book.

Kerwood, who served as program leader, described specifics about the rummage sale planned for May 2-3 at the church. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Mingo Social Services.

VanDyne announced that the 10 large-print hymnals had arrived and were in use; Valentine bags were given to shut-ins, widows and widowers; the Urban Mission Ministries jelly bean challenge and Feinstein hunger challenge boxes were being well received; orders are being taken for the Easter lilies; and the mother-daughter banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 8 with Rachael Beck, a country Christian singer, as the entertainer.

VanDyne also reported on the Red Cross Rape Crisis Center and its needs.

Tina Corder was the hostess.

Pam Pietro will be the leader for the April meeting, and Ginny Howell will be the hostess.
