Auxiliary plans May crowning

WEIRTON – The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary held the first regular meeting of the year April 1 at the Blue Steel Grille.

The Rev. Ron Getsinger, chaplain, gave the opening prayer, followed by President Delores Bengier leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Secretary Mary Longhi called roll and gave the December meeting minutes. Treasurer Sondra Pennacchio gave the financial report.

A Mass for deceased and current auxiliary members will be held at noon May 6 at St. Joseph the Worker Church. All members and their families are invited to attend. Getsinger will be the celebrant.

The annual May crowning will be held at the May meeting. Pauline Snyder was selected to crown the Virgin Mary.

Members observed the winter birthdays of Agnes Watt, Minnie Catignoni, Frances Oliver, Olivia Oklok, Getsinger, Donna DiAngelis, Connie Bernardi, Mary Gubetti, Joann Faulkner and Pauline Snyder.

Kay Jonczak won the 50/50 drawing held by Kay Doboski.

Getsinger gave the closing prayer.
