Ecumenical Good Friday service detailed

The 2014 Ecumenical Good Friday service will be held at noon on Friday at at First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 N. 4th St., Steubenville.

The service will include a time of music, comprised of both congregational singing and special selections, and Good Friday readings. It also will include a concert of prayer, in which pastors will remember the needs of families, the community, churches and the nation in addition to offering thanks for God’s love and redemption.

The Rev. Jason Elliott, pastor of First Westminster, is the host pastor again this year.

Eleven additional pastors will be joining in the Good Friday event, including: the Rev. Philip Makari, Starkdale Presbyterian Church; Pastor Chad Thompson, Crossroads Christian Church; the Rev. Vaughn Foster, Christ’s Community Church; the Rev. Ashley Steele, executive director of Urban Mission Ministries; the Rev. Gary Hallberg, Word of Life Fellowship; the Rev. Bobbyjon Bauman, Starkdale Presbyterian Church; the Rev. Tom Bullard, Starkdale Presbyterian Church; Pastor Jeff Greco, Crossroads Christian Church; Pastor Dave Shores, Word of Life Fellowship; the Rev. Lydia Spragin, the Shared Ministries; and the Rev. David Massimi, retired.

Pastor Anthony Bianchini of Lighthouse Evangelical Presbyterian Church will deliver the message entitled “What Will You Do with the Cross?”

The sixth-annual Christ Walk will get under way at the end of the service, beginning at the church and continuing to Crossroads Christian Church in Wintersville.
