St. Elizabeth Guild holds meeting
WEIRTON – St Thomas Episcopal Church’s St. Elizabeth Guild met recently at the church’s fellowship hall.
President Carol Village welcomed Candace Wittig of RSVP, a division of Senior Corps, a nationwide organization. It’s made of retired seniors volunteering their time and talent to help others in their communities. They work at schools, libraries, soup kitchens and nursing homes. There are 77 places in Brooke and Hancock counties where volunteers are needed. RSVP volunteers may chose where they wish to volunteer. Members were reminded of the spring banquet at 6 p.m. May 7 at Giovanni’s Restaurant located on Pennsylvania Avenue.
The spring rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2 and 9 a.m. to noon May 3 at the church located on Three Springs Drive.
Village read a short story about the colors of Easter.
Refreshments were served, and the meeting was adjourned.
