Society holding plant sale

ELDERSVILLE, Pa. – The Jefferson Township Historical Society will hold the annual plant sale beginning at 9 a.m. May 10 at the White Church located at 11 Fire Road, across the street from the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department.

There will be a selection of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs and shrubs available, including marigolds, baby’s breath, coreopsis, hibiscus, russell lupine, shasta daisies, purple cone flowers, sweet peas, peonies and geraniums. “Old-fashioned” plants will be available, including teddy bear plants, mountain asters, rainbow lewisia and wild tiger pansys.

Vegetables will include three varieties of tomatoes, zucchini, peppers and swiss chard. At least five different herbs will be available.

Some garden items will be available for sale. Most of the plants are home-grown by a master gardener. Proceeds benefit the society’s renovation of the White Church.
