Park announces entertainment

WHEELING – Singer-songwriter Deni Bonet will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at Oglebay Park’s Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater.

Bonet is a classically trained violinist who has recorded and performed with R.E.M., Sarah McLachlan, Cyndi Lauper, Scissor Sisters and Warren Zevon. She was an original member of the cast of the nationally syndicated NPR radio show “Mountain Stage,” where she sang and performed and accompanying show guests. Bonet performed at Lilith Fair, Carnegie Hall, the United Nations and at the White House for the President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Additional programming at the amphitheater includes:

Dick Taddy will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Independent Theatre Collective will present a Shakespeare in the Park production of “Two Gentlemen of Verona” at 7 p.m. July 24 and Aug. 7.

The Ron Retzer Trio will perform at 7 p.m. July 27.

The Beatles tribute band A Hard Day’s Night will perform at 7 p.m. July 31.

Rusty Wright will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 3.

Roger Hoard will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 10.

The Jades will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 17.

Smoke Daddy and the Crawfish will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 24.

The Wheeling Symphony will hold “Music Under the Stars” Aug. 31.

All performances are free to the public. In inclement weather, performances will be moved to an indoor facility.
