Society to discuss mineral springs
ELDERSVILLE, Pa. – The Jefferson Township Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Township Fire Department pavilion located behind the department located at 12 Fire Road.
Patrick Adams will present the program, “Historic Frankfort Mineral Springs.” The mineral springs was constructed in the early 1800s and was a popular resort for more than a hundred years, as the mineral water was believed to have healing qualities. The program will look at the people and events associated with the mineral springs, which now are located within Raccoon Creek State Park.
Adams has been an environmental educator at the park since 1991.
The public is invited to attend.
