Washington County Agricultural Fair announces schedule

WASHINGTON – The Washington County Agricultural Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 9-16 at the Washington County Fairgrounds located at 80 N. Main St.

The theme is “Treasure the Memories.”

The fair schedule is as follows:

Aug. 8

4 p.m., judging in the halls.

6 p.m., antique tractor pull in the grandstands.

Aug. 9

9 a.m., lawn and garden tractor pull in the grandstands.

9 a.m., Spam contest in the show tent.

10 a.m., Pennsylvania Preferred cookie contest in the show tent.

10:30 a.m., Pennsylvania Preferred chocolate cake contest in the show tent.

11 a.m., Blue Ribbon apple pie contest in the show tent.

11:45 a.m., angel food cake contest in the show tent.

12:30 p.m., Bisquick quick creations contest in the show tent.

1 p.m., pedal power tractor pull in the show arena.

4 p.m., Silver Moon Twirlers in the show tent.

4 p.m., Washington County fire truck parade in the grandstands.

Daily admission is $9. Aug. 9 is firefighters’ day, and firefighters with a valid identification get in free. Aug. 9 also is Range Resources day, and all other admission is $6. Aug. 11 is senior citizens’ day, and all those 62 and older get in free. Aug. 12 is Log Cabin Fence day, and admission is $6. Aug. 15 is children’s day, and all those 12 and under are free until 4 p.m.

Admission includes rides, petting zoo, entertainment, shows and parking. The rides will be open from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 9 and Aug. 10 and from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 11-16

Weekly passes can be purchased for $30 from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 6-9 at the fair office. Weekly passes do not include rides. For information, contact the fair office at (724) 225-7718 or visit the website at www.washingtonfair.org.
