Old Crow Medicine Show set to perform at WVU

MORGANTOWN — Two-time Grammy Award-winners Old Crow Medicine Show will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center.

Chance McCoy, guitar, fiddle, banjo and vocals; Kevin Hayes, guitjo and vocals; Critter Fuqua, slide guitar, banjo, guitar and vocals; Morgan Jahnig, upright bass; Cory Younts, mandolin, keyboards, drums and vocals; and Ketch Secor, fiddle, harmonica, banjo and vocals, began their career busking on street corners in New York and up through Canada in 1998. They caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson, who invited them to play at MerleFest.

Old Crow Medicine Show is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has earned two Grammy Awards, including Best Folk Album for “Remedy” in 2014 and Best Long Form Music Video for “Big Easy Express” in 2013. Their single “Wagon Wheel,” went platinum, and they play Bonnaroo, the Cambridge Folk Festival, Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Fest and the Newport Folk Festival.

WVU Student tickets are $23 at the campus box offices; limit one discounted ticket per valid university identification.
