Funseekers are entertained with movie and show tunes

WEIRTON — The Funseekers met Sept. 7 at Undo’s in Weirton with President Larry Bauer presiding and Joann Bugin leading the opening ceremony.

There were 37 in attendance for the gathering that included a buffet dinner.

Local performer Victoria Grant, a registered nurse at Weirton Medical Center, presented a program of Broadway show tunes and movie hits.

The tour director’s report included the following trips: Dec. 5, Christmas Wonderland at Capitol Theater; January, Miami and Key West; and March 29-31, Seneca Niagara Falls. Flyers on these and other 2017 outings were distributed to the membership. All trips are open to members, guests and the public. For information, call Regina Truax at (304) 723-0419.

Bauer reminded members that annual dues of $10 per person must be paid by the Oct. 5 meeting. He also thanked members for volunteering to serve on the holiday party committee.

The team will be chaired by Cathy DiBenedetto, a new member to Funseekers, and also include Michele Fabbro, Sandy Leone, Cil Fritz, Linda Lenzi, Barbara Jean Losey, Regina Truax, DoeDee Magnone and Mary Margaret Klepadlo with support from the executive board. The party will be at Zalenski’s Family Eatery and Pub in Wintersville on Dec. 7.

Boyd Barker won $50 in the 50-50 drawing. Door prizes presented by Tony and Dee LaRosa were presented to Boyd Barker, Walt Klepadlo, Chris Sklenar, Mary Cox, Theresa Spadfore, Chuck Pierce, DoeDee Magnone, Mary Morelli and Clyde Morelli.
