Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary Board met Sept. 20

WEIRTON — The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary Board met Sept. 20 in the Starvaggi Boardroom with President Sondra Weigel calling the meeting to order.

Twelve members attended and recited the Auxiliary Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

The medical center hospital liaison reminded the auxiliary September is Prostate Cancer Month. Reports were given on ongoing programs and expansions of the medical center.

Recording Secretary Elda Weekley read the August meeting minutes, which were approved as read; Treasurer Paula Billick gave the financial status of the auxiliary; and Corresponding Secretary Domenicia “Minnie” Malloy reported sympathy cards were sent to auxiliary family members.

Service chairs gave the following reports: Peg Barber, coffee and mail carts; Paula Billick, payroll deductions; Barbara Visnic, gift cart; and Elda Weekley publicity. Special reports were given by Flo Jonczak, birth certificates; Dolores Krinock, membership, and Vivian Weigel gift shop committee.

President Weigel reported the auxiliary has two new volunteers-in-training, Bettie Lou Gain and Paula Rogers.

Those interested in becoming a volunteer may pick up an application in the gift shop.

Upcoming events include: Oct. 18, executive board meeting; Oct. 27-28, Books are Fun; Dec. 1-2, Masquerade $5 jewelry sale; and Dec. 7, auxiliary Christmas party.
