Elks, Haunted School team up to ‘Fill the Hearse’ Friday, Saturday

WEIRTON — The Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 will team up with the Haunted School of Terror to “Stuff the Hearse” — to fill a hearse with nonperishable food items — to scare hunger out of the community.

Elks and Haunted School volunteers will be accepting items Friday and Saturday at the Haunted School located on Weir Avenue. Those donating two or more items will receive $2 off admission to the Haunted School. Items will be donated to the Community Bread Basket.

The Elks also will host a trunk or treat Halloween party for members’ children and grandchildren from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the lodge’s rear parking lot. Members will decorate their car trunks with a Halloween theme, and there will be games and treats for the children, who are encouraged to wear costumes.

The lodge Halloween party will be held, beginning at 9 p.m., Saturday. Disc Jockey Dave Petras will provide music and karaoke. There will be party treats and drink specials. Members are encouraged to wear costumes, and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
