Weirton Christmas parade winners

The Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners from the 2016 Weirton Christmas parade held Nov. 26 in downtown.

They include: large float, J.D. Rockefeller IV Career Center, first place, Chambers and James Funeral, Pet and Cremation Services, second, and Four Seasons Resort, third place; mini-float, Granato’s Deli, first place, Brenda Casey Dance Center, second, and Quality Rental — Frozen, third; decorated vehicle or specialty unit, Wild Horses Motorcycles, first place, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 10, second, McDonald’s — Bristin Enterprises, third; performance group, Weir high and middle schools marching band, first, Michele Dance Studio, second, and Casey Sister’s Dance Academy, third; and Oak Glen High School marching band won best band sound.

The chamber will host a press day for all winners at 2 p.m. Monday at the chamber office located at 3174 Pennsylvania Ave. Each winning organization is asked to have a representative available to receive the trophy and take a photo with Santa.

The chamber members and staff thank all those businesses who donated to the Salvation Army Angel Tree thus far this year, including Mobilized 360 Apps, James White Construction, St. Paul’s School, Jeff Davis, Dee-Jay’s BBQ Ribs, Serra Village Retirement Community, Strip Steel Employees Federal Credit Union, Fairfield Inn and Suites, Jeanne Pellegrino, Bellofram, Dan’s Plumbing and Heating, First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union, Holiday Inn — Weirton, Hancock County School Employees Federal Credit Union, Romie Castelli, Weirton Shop’n Save, Smitty’s Carpet and Grae-Con Construction Co.

With these donations, the chamber is able to fulfill the wishes on the cards.
