Weir High stages ‘Beauty and the Beast’

BE THEIR GUEST — The cast of Weir High School’s production of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” will perform the musical at 6:30 p.m. April 6-8 at the high school’s Milton J. Weinberg Theater located at 100 Red Rider Road. -- Summer Wallace-Minger

WEIRTON — The Weir High School Theater Department will present “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and book by Linda Woolverton, at 6:30 p.m. April 6-8 at the Milton J. Weinberg Theater.

Bookworm Belle seems peculiar to her neighbors, but local hunter Gaston has determined to wed her because she is the most beautiful girl in the village. When her inventor father becomes lost in the woods and unwittingly imposes on the hospitality of the mysterious Beast and his staff of enchanted objects, Belle agrees to take his place as the Beast’s prisoner.

Georgia Beatty stars as Belle and Logan Allen is the Beast. Jake Curtis is Gaston; Dakota Wagner is Lefou; and Ben Fedoush is Maurice and the Narrator.

Sam Yates is Mrs. Potts; Brandon Cramer is Lumiere; Alexia Jenkins is Chip; Taylor Niven is Babette; Abby Wallace is Madam Dela Grade Bouche; and Seth Feierman is Cogsworth. Demetri Riter is the Selfish Prince; and Alexia Jenkins is the Old Beggar Woman.

Taylor Wright is Monsier D’Argque; Will Crago is the Bookseller; Abby Wallace, Alexia Jenkins and Cassie Shrieve are Silly Girls; Daylynn Anderson is the Sausage Curl Girl; Jillian Cline is the Milk Maid and Fish Girl; Mary Babinchak is Lady With Baby and the Statue; Riley Reid is the Aristocratic Lady; Taylor Niven is the Egg Seller; Dakota Halfin is the Hat Seller; Seth Feierman is the Shepherd Boy.

Megan Kramer, Mia Valero, Madison Carroll and Isabella Constantini are townspeople, and Taylor Wright, Brandon Cramer, Seth Feierman, Demetri Riter and Noah Huey are cronies.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door.
