Trio of authors will hold book signing, talk at Mary H. Weir

WEIRTON — A three-author book signing will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mary H. Weir Public Library located at 3442 Main St.

Inspirational authors Carolyn Bradley, Karina Garrison and Susan Spencer-Smith, all residents of the Weirton-Steubenville area, will be featured. They will give brief talks touching on their writing inspirations and journeys.

Bradley most recently served as developer and editor of “In the Comfort of His Arms,” a compilation of Christian essays by 23 Tri-State Area writers. Bradley called the compilation “a book of trust, hope, love and wonder. We first trust God for all of our needs. We then receive hope, love and wonder as we realize the truth of his grace, beauty and help in all the situations in our lives. We are all God’s children. He holds us, loves us and cares for us in a unique and masterful way.”

Garrison, a contributor to “In the Comfort of His Arms,” has been recognized by the National Writers Association for outstanding fiction. She has been a freelance writer, editor and inspirational speaker for more than 10 years, and her works of fiction and nonfiction have appeared nationally in various publications. Her most recent title is “Tempting Faith,” a story of forbidden love, faith and ancient secrets set in a medieval English monastery. Garrison also has served since 2009 as president of the Tri-State Writers Society.

Spencer-Smith, a retired pastor and newspaper journalist, also is a contributor to “In the Comfort of His Arms.” She has written three inspirational novels set in Tyler County and a cookbook, “The Preacher Lady’s Cookbook for the Hungry Soul.” Her next inspirational novel, “Murder on Muddy Creek,” exploring issues of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among military veterans, will debut in October. Her current writing project is “In the Waiting Room: Prayers for Purse and Pocket.”
