Coalition receives Pugliese grant

The Women In Action Against Cancer Coalition recently was awarded a $1,000 grant through the Charles M. and Thelma M. Pugliese Charitable Foundation. The money will be used to provide Pap smears and mammograms for underserved women and provide prostate screening through the April Minority Health Month project. The coalition is a grassroots organization dedicated to providing education and financial assistance for annual women’s screenings to uninsured women in Jefferson County and men’s prostate screening in conjunction with the Minority Health Month observed in April, according to a coalition spokesperson.
