THEY MAKE IT HAPPEN — “Around the World” was the theme of the 23nd-annual Taste of the County held Oct. 4 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, giving area residents an opportunity to sample the specialties of area restaurants, bakeries and caterers while supporting the fundraiser sponsored by the United Way of Jefferson County. Participants included A Touch of Elegance, Downtown Bakery, Mama G’s, Piergallini Catering, The Ville, Mandred’s Catering, Ohio Valley Sno, Little Snack Shack, Scaffidi’s Restaurant, Texas RoadHouse, The Laurel’s of Steubenville, Sugar Rushed Bakery, the YWCA of Steubenville, The Inn at Franciscan Square, Momma Maria’s, Margaret’s CafÈ, Tim Horton and the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School Crestview Inn. Mystery bags were sponsored by McCauslen’s Florist in Steubenville, and Dart Destination was sponsored by Discovery Jewelers of Wintersville. The winners of Dart Destination were Amy McDonnell, a necklace; Todd Piergallini, a hot air balloon ride for two; and Flo Rakich, a picnic table and picnic items.
Today’s page is devoted to photos taken at the annual Taste of the County fundraiser held at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville on Oct. 4 to benefit the United Way of Jefferson County.
It was a great turnout for an evening that centered around getting your food and dessert fill of the specialties of area restaurants, bakeries and caterers, the majority of whom are shown in the photo at top right.
Without their support and enthusiasm — and great eats — this event would not be possible.
Hats off to all those who made this happen — vendors, patrons, organizers, volunteers and Anna Thomas, event chair.
A lovely evening indeed to the theme “Around the World!”
