WEIRTON — The Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International honorary teachers sorority met Nov. 5 at Williams Country Club.

President Ruth Fuller presided, extending the welcome to members and introducing guests Martha Randolph and Sandi Anderson.

The room was decorated to a Thanksgiving theme. Meeting hostesses were Elaine McClung and Barbara DeLong.

Opening ceremonies involved Chris Snyder, president-elect, and Pat Accettolo, who read “Veterans Day Devotion.”

Reports were given by Janet Benzo, minutes; Carolyn Allison, financial report; and Lisa Subrick, who read correspondence and thank-you cards.

Accettolo reported on the collection of card fronts to be donated for teacher and craft projects. JoAnn Kerr reported on courtesy, and Allison shared information on membership. Subrick gave a detailed report on Alpha Delta Kappa Month. Fuller thanked Subrick for her dedication and hard work on the projects.

Jerry DeFilippo presented a fraternity education program on “Alpha Delta Kappa — It’s in Your Bag!”

Members discussed and tabled possible programs for meetings until March. The group does not meet in January and February.

Several members attended and reported on the Ohio Valley Fall District meeting that was sponsored by Alpha Tau Sorority in New Cumberland and held Oct. 28 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Fuller said she was proud of the members, recognized for “Positive Net Growth” and as a “7 Pearl Chapter.”

Liz Pugh reported on the Nomination Committee, and Fuller distributed the hostess sheet for 2018.

Fuller reported that Fidelis Gamma will host the Tri-Chapter Christmas party this year. It will be held Dec. 2 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville. Members will gather socially at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon.

Hostesses for December are DeFilippo and Accettolo.

Fuller asked members to consider attending the West Virginia Alpha Delta Kappa State Convention next year on April 20-22 in Huntington, W. Va. Early registration will begin Jan. 8.
