in December food distribution dates

Pine Grove UMC to host

free Christmas dinner Friday

HAMMONDSVILLE — Pine Grove United Methodist Church will host a free Christmas dinner on Friday

Devotions will begin at 4:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 5 p.m. The church is located at 19 county Road 72 in Hammondsville near the old Pine Grove one-room school.

having holiday get-together Wednesday

WEIRTON — The Weir High School Class of 1967 will hold a holiday get-together beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Sports Court, located on Pennsylvania Avenue. All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend.

Christmas lunch, tea and music

Wednesday at the Gathering Place

PARIS, Pa. — A Christmas lunch and tea with Marvin Whiteman will be held at noon Wednesday at the Gathering Place Coffee Shop, Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Paris (Burgettstown.)

The event is free and will include tea, lunch, fellowship and Christmas music performed by Whiteman. Donations will be accepted to support Whiteman’s ministry, according to a news release.

Book signing Wednesday in Weirton

for ‘Always Living the Dream’

WEIRTON — Former Weirton resident John Mihalyo will be doing a book signing of his work, “Always Living the Dream,” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level of the Mary H. Weir Public Library in Weirton.

The book is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and soon will be on Apple I books as well.

A portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to pancreatic and breast cancer research.

Library to show historical thriller

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Library will show the 1973 PG rated film “Executive Action” at noon Tuesday.

The historical thriller suggests a conspiracy behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Attendees may bring a lunch. Popcorn and water will be provided by the library.
