STEUBENVILLE — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will be holding its seventh-annual Christmas Day memorial dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hellenic Hall.

The dinner is free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Local carry-outs will be available.

“There is a need in our community for something like this, said Spiro Alexander, one of the planners. “Last year we served more than 600 meals. What a blessing that we are able to do this. Holy Trinity is blessed to be part of a community that is so giving, and we are enriched in God’s love throughout the year. This is our small way of giving back to our community and to say thank you,” Alexander said.

“The dinner is in memory of family and friends who have passed away. We do this, because Christmas is the most festive day of the year, yet many people and many families in our community can’t afford to provide a Christmas meal,” Alexander continued.

“We do this to reach out to our brothers and sisters in Christ who don’t want to be alone and want to share this joyous day with other people. Our doors will be open, and all are welcome for whatever reason someone might want to come,” he added.

The menu for the day will be a traditional Christmas Day meal consisting of soup, turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, roll, butter, dessert and beverage. Carry-outs and limited delivery will be provided. Holy Trinity’s Hellenic Hall is located at 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville. The telephone number is (740) 282-9835.
