The Weirton Knights of Columbus Council No. 3734 recently donated $200 to the National Fire Safety Council through the Weirton Fire Department. The funds are to be used to educate school-aged children in Weirton in fire prevention safety matters. Members of the fire department visit the schools and distribute educational materials on fire prevention to the students. Weirton Fire Chief Jerry Shumate, left, accepted the donation from Kevin Davis of the Weirton Knight, right, in the presence of several other city firefighters.
