Shianne Cunningham of Richmond, left, became the Ohio Valley Music Guild’s seventh scholarship recipient, receiving a $1,000 award from Josephine Irvine-Groves, the guild’s scholarship chairman. The daughter of Jared and Jessica McCallister of Richmond, Cunningham is a 2015 Edison High School graduate and junior at the University of Akron where she is a music education major. Proceeds for the scholarships are generated from musical events organized by the guild, which also makes annual donations to the Grand Theater Restoration Project.
