Literacy workshop
Megan Reister, associate professor of education at Franciscan University of Steubenville, led a literacy instruction workshop held earlier this week at the Jefferson County Educational Service Center. Approximately 15 local educators took part in the workshop, and Reister discussed teaching practices and strategies for literacy and equity in the classroom. Topics explored the impact of identity in students with disabilities to techniques to motivate reluctant readers. The event was sponsored by JCESC through its Quest for Success program.
