BLACKMOOR

The Blackmoor Ladies League played “Select Drive” on June 4.

Winners of the event were Lori DeFallo in first place, Ruth Lamantia in second and Signa Findlay took third. Kathi Moore had low putts. Proximity prizes were awarded to Cheryl Black, closest to the pin on hole No. 12, and Denise Augustine, long drive on hole No. 16.

The nine-hole league is open to all women golfers. Tee-off is at 5 p.m. Call the clubhouse by 4 p.m. to sign up. The next league play is Monday.

CADIZ WOMEN’S GOLF LEAGUE

The Cadiz Women’s Golf League’s game on June 6 was “Predict Your Score before Playing.” After lunch, hostess Peg Buchanan announced the winners as: A flight, first place, Sherry Sapon; second, Tracy Amos; and third, a tie between Joyce Berdine, Kathy Newburn, Nep Rowland and Jan Schuitz.

In B flight, first place was Brenda Hartley; second, Donna Griffin; and third, Bonnie Beetham. C flight winners were, first place, a tie between Peg Buchanan and Jane Galigher; second, Ginny Ferrell; and third, Judy Crawshaw. Least putts were won by Bonnie Beetham with 28 and Roberta Cireddu with 29.

Birdies were made on hole No. 16 by Janis Cook and Kathy Newburn. Chip-ins were made by Roberta Cireddu on hole No. 2, Denise Augustine on hole No. 12 and Ginny Ferrell on hole No. 5.

A meeting was held following the awards by Chairman Brenda Hartley to discuss the Guest Day tournament and select chairmen for the various committees.

The hostess for Wednesday will be Bonnie Beetham with the game being “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda.”

MOUNTAINEER WOODVIEW WOMEN’S 18 HOLE GOLF LEAGUE

Mishal Hawthorne was the low gross winner with an 82 when the Mountaineer Woodview Women’s 18-Hole Golf Leauge played May 31.

First low net was Elaine Minda, and second low net was Priscilla Mavrich.

Proximity prizes went to Priscilla Mavrich with closest to the pin on hole No. 8 and Elaine Minda with closest to the pin on hole No. 14. Elaine Minda was closest in two on hole No. 17. Low putts was Mishal Hawthorne.

Birdies were recorded by Debbie Provenzano on hole No. 15, Mischal Hawthorne on hole Nos. 12 and 15 and Priscilla Mavrich on hole No. 8.

STEUBENVILLE COUNTRY CLUB

WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION

YangJa Koh and Theresa Metcalf were hostesses for the weekly game played by the Steubenville Country Club Women’s Golf Association on June 6.

Scores on odd-numbered holes were totaled and one-half handicap was used to determine the winners.

Paula Hope took first place, while Marilyn Kenny and Dianna Adams tied for second. Winning low putts with a total of 31 were Kenny, Adams and Metcalf.

Chip-ins were recorded by Adams on the 15th hole and Metcalf on the third hole. They shared the money cup.

The third round of the President’s Cup Tournament was played and will conclude this Wednesday. The winner will be the golfer with the best three of four net scores.

This week’s game will be “Throw Out one Hole on Each Nine.” Golfers will report at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. start.

TOWN AND COUNTRY

Town and Country Golf played a scramble and conducted the monthly meeting on May 31.

The winning team was Wanda Retzer, Kathy Antinone, Lattee Chinakarn and Nancy Lellie, and second place was Lucy Karaan, Norma Henson and Shirley Guida.

The league plays at 10 a.m. every Thursday at Spring Hills Golf Course, East Springfield. All women are welcome to join in league play.
