Crafting and vendor event
set for Sunday at YWCA
STEUBENVILLE — A crafting and vendor event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the YWCA of Steubenville, located at 320 N. Fourth St.
Those interested in participating as a vendor are directed to https://holidayopenhouse.eventbrite.com/. A $20 donation for craft projects or a vendor table benefits the YWCA.

Women to meet Monday
WEIRTON — The Hancock County Federation of Democratic Women held their monthly meeting Aug. 20 at Victorian Hall, Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, with President Kathy Link presiding and welcoming those in attendance.
Minutes provided by Secretary Teresa McCombs were approved, and Treasurer Debbie Caine gave a report.
The annual meeting will be held Sept. 14-16 at the Four Points by the Sheraton Inn in Charleston and be attended by Link and three members. Link will participate in the memorial service for the group’s deceased member, Lillian Douglas. Link also will take a gift for the auction set for Sept. 15.
In other business, Link proposed that the dues be increased from $5 to $10 next January. It will be read three times before it becomes a bylaw. Link also distributed state bylaws with changes for review.
The “Meet and Greet” event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 in the Rose Room of the Millsop Community Center. It is open to the public.
The next meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday at a member’s home. The federation welcomes new members. All Hancock County Democratic women are invited to join. Country Friends announces
lineup of entertainment
COLLIERS — Country Friends will host the Neon Knights on Friday and Moonlite Special on Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 67 Police Lodge Road, Colliers.
The doors open at 6 p.m, the dance starts at 7 p.m., and the hall closes at 10 p.m. for both events. There is a $5 cover charge per person on dance nights.
Open mic is Monday. The doors open at 4 p.m., the covered-dish meal is served at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge on Mondays, but donations are appreciated.
The last Friday of the month is gospel or charity night with a donation made to a church or charity.
Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music. All proceeds go to charity. Brooke County Library to host
flu shot clinic on Monday
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Library will host a flu shot clinic held by the Wellsburg Rite Aid store from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday.
Participants will need to bring their insurance cards or payment.

Library fines being waived
Fines for books and other items checked out of the Brooke County Library and its Follansbee branch will be waived Monday through Sept. 22.
Those who owe the libraries for damaged or lost materials must pay for them, but if the patrons visit the libraries to pay for them during that period will have their overdue fees waived.
‘Incredibles’ story hour set
