Calvary Community Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Guiding Light Awards Banquet at 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Hellenic Hall, 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville. This year’s honorees are being recognized for their work in the following areas: Mayor Jerry Barilla, political; Vaughn and Lisa Foster, couples; Molly and Bill McGovern, social impact; the Rev. Melvin Rippy, pastoral; Cookie West, community outreach; and Elder James and Carpice Wooden, small business. The keynote speaker for the event will be the Rev. James Foglio of Weirton Covenant Church. Bobbyjon Bauman of the Sycamore Youth and Community Center in Steubenville will serve as master of ceremonies. The ticket donation is $30.
