Four arrested on drug, other charges in Weirton
WEIRTON – Four individuals were arrested in Weirton Thursday following a drug investigation in the city’s downtown.
According to Detective Ricky Grishkevich, the Weirton Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit conducted a drug investigation at two properties on West Street Thursday.
Officers received consent to search 3421 West St., where Maleah Deserae Fletcher, 21, was arrested and charged with delivery of crack cocaine.
After receiving a warrant, officers with the Street Crimes Unit also searched 3409 West St., where Danny Lee Irwin, 29, Jennifer Lynn Williamson, 39, and Eric Wayne Davidson, 30, were arrested on charges of conspiracy to deliver crack cocaine as well as child neglect creating substantial risk of injury.
“All three subjects were smoking the crack in the presence of Irwin and Williamson’s 5-year-old daughter,” Grishkevich said.
Child Protective Services also was on the scene, according to Grishkevich, where they took custody of a total of five children from the two houses.
Several items, including electronics, were found as part of the search, which officials believe the individuals were using to obtain the drugs. The items appeared to have been stolen, according to police.
“They were trading off stolen property for the crack,” Grishkevich said.
Officials currently are working to identify some of the items discovered during the searches to see if they match items reported missing.
As of Friday, Fletcher was being held in the Northern Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond, while Irwin, Williamson and Davidson were being held on a $50,000 bond each.
Grishkevich said there is the possibility of additional charges against the four individuals as the investigation continues.
