Night at the Races to benefit United Way

WHEELING – A Night at the Races to benefit the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 15 at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack.

Guests will enjoy buffet stations with beef, chicken, seafood, pasta and made-to-order selections. There also will be an array of desserts and a drawing for various door prizes, including a romantic getaway package that includes accommodations at the Hampton Inn in Wheeling, tickets to “Elvis Lives” at the Capitol Theatre, dinner and transportation; a $500 Kroger gift card; four-day passes to Jamboree in the Hills; a Pittsburgh sports basket; and gift certificate for Good Mansion Wines.

Tickets are $30 each and may be purchased by calling (304) 232-4625. Drawing tickets are $3 each or two for $5 and can be purchased through the United Way office also.

Major sponsors for the 18th-annual event include Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack, Pepsi, and WTRF-TV.

What better way is there to put winter behind you, gather with friends for a delicious dinner and enjoy the excitement of watching the races.”

There is still time to send a campaign donation to the United Way, which supports many nonprofit organizations serving Brooke County. Donations may be sent to the United Way at 51 11th St., Wheeling, WV 26003.
