Woman allegedly used car to strike juveniles

WEIRTON – The Weirton woman who allegedly tried to hit two juveniles with her car Monday evening in the vicinity of Owings Street has been charged with two counts of malicious assault, reckless driving, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, Police Chief Bruce Marshall said.

The driver, identified as Theresa Hall, was released from the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville Tuesday. Her address was not immediately available.

“Our guys responded to a disturbance call in the area of Owings Street,” Marshall said. “As the situation unfolded we found the defendant had struck one of the juveniles and attempted to strike another.”

The boy who was struck suffered only minor scrapes, he said.

Marshall said the investigation is ongoing.
