Police presence nets drug arrests

WEIRTON – Increased patrols in the city of Weirton resulted in the arrest of seven individuals on drug and other charges, police officials reported Monday.

According to a statement released by the Weirton Police Department, the arrests were made Sunday as part of an investigation conducted by the department’s Street Crimes Unit and Patrol Division.

Those arrested included:

William DeAngelo McGee, 33, of Steubenville, on one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (crack), one count of transporting a controlled substance into the state with the intent to deliver (crack/heroin), one count of delivery of a controlled substance (heroin). He is being held in the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail on a $200,000 bond from Brooke County and $280 from the City of Weirton.

Andre Hamlin, 32, of Steubenville, one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (crack), one count of transporting a controlled substance into the state with the intent to deliver (crack/heroin), and one count of delivery of a controlled substance (heroin). He is being held at Northern Regional Jail on a $200,000 bond from Brooke County.

Jimmale P. Harton, 22, of Steubenville, one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (heroin). He is being held on $100,000 bond from Brooke County.

Jennifer Danielson, 36, of Follansbee, one count of child neglect with substantial risk of injury and two counts of deliver of a controlled substance (heroin). She is being held on $100,000 bond from Brooke County.

Levi Thomas, 28, of Follansbee, one count of child neglect with substantial risk of injury and one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (heroin). He is being held on $100,000 bond from Brooke County.

Mathew Baker, of Weirton, obstructing an officer.

Shane Blanton, of Toronto, possession of marijuana and possession of a drug abuse instrument.

Baker and Blanton’s charges will go through Weirton Municipal Court, according to the department’s release.
