Hagg named campaign vice chair
WEIRTON – The Weirton United Way has announced Michael Hagg has joined the 2013 campaign team as this year’s campaign vice chair.
For the past four years, Hagg has served as the executive director for the Hancock County Sheltered Workshop. A lifelong resident of Weirton, he also serves as the assistant coach for the Weirton Madonna boys basketball team, works with the Community Bread Basket and is a member of the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
He will join Executive Director Kristin Bowman-Cross and 2013 Campaign Chair Don Gianni Jr. in leading this year’s campaign, which will work to raise $280,000 for the Weirton United Way’s 15 member agencies.
The Weirton United Way 2013 campaign will officially kick off later this month, with plans for a week of activities focused on the programs offered by the organization’s member agencies.
The Weirton United Way’s member agencies include the American Red Cross – River Valley Chapter; Boys & Girls Club of Weirton; Girl Scouts, Black Diamond Council; Boy Scouts of America; C.H.A.N.G.E., Inc.; Community Bread Basket; Dunbar Recreation Center; Healthways Inc.; Hancock/Brooke/Ohio/Marshall Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; Hancock County Sheltered Workshop; Hancock County 4-H Foundation; Weirton Medical Center Foundation; Mary H. Weir Public Library; Salvation Army, Weirton Corps.; and the Weirton Christian Center.
