Haunted School of Terror returns
WEIRTON – If you’re looking for a good scare this month, you might want to check out the return of the Haunted School of Terror in Weirton.
Located at Krazy Bout Sportz, 2850 Weir Ave., the attraction will be open every Friday and Saturday in October from 7 p.m. to midnight. It features two floors of attractions, and one of the area’s largest indoor, climate-controlled mazes, according to organizers.
This is the third year for the local attraction, located in what once was Dunbar School. Admission is $10 per person.
“The first weekend was a great success,” Krazy Bout Sportz co-owner Patty Soplinski said.
Proceeds from the attraction will benefit Piece by Peace, which provides sensory rooms to assist those with autism and other conditions.
While Soplinski wouldn’t give away any details, she did promise a fun and frightening experience.
Soplinski also urged area residents to check out the attraction’s website – www.hauntedschoolofterror.com – for any special discounts or events.
“There are special days for schools,” Soplinski said, noting students are encouraged to wear school-themed clothing or ID badges. “They get $2 off admission.”
Today will be for Brooke High, with Saturday for Oak Glen and Buckeye Local, for example.
Sponsors for this year’s Haunted School of Terror are Hundred Acres Manor, Marsh Hardware Supply, Lowe’s, Hancock County Savings Bank, Auto Zone, Cimation, Novelty Plus, and Weirton Lumber.
