Local man is among recent revocations

WHEELING – A Colliers man is among 22 individuals whose supervised released was revoked by U.S. District Court in recent months.

Matthew Ian Haught, 31, of Colliers, was among those announced Monday by U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld for violating the terms and conditions of their release.

Haught has been sentenced by Judge Frederick P. Stamp Jr. to nine months in prison for possession and use of a controlled substance, failure to report to the probation office as instructed, failure to report for scheduled drug treatment and absconding.

Haught originally was sentenced on Aug. 14, 2009 to 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a drug addict.

On April 15, Haught’s initial supervised release was revoked and he was sentenced to three months in prison and 33 months of supervised release for use and possession of heroin and alcohol and failure to report for scheduled drug screenings.

Haught was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending designation to a federal institution.
