Thursday break leads to boil order
WEIRTON – Weirton officials issued a boil order Thursday following a water line break in one of the city’s neighborhoods.
According to information provided by the Weirton Area Water Board, the line break occurred Thursday afternoon along Inez Street, which runs between North 10th Street and North 12th Street in the Weirton Heights area of the city.
Workers were conducting repairs in the afternoon, which included flushing and re-filling the water lines. As a result, a boil order was issued for a minimum of 24 hours while water samples are being tested.
Residents in the affected area should not drink their water without boiling it first during the time of the boil order. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation until further notice.
