Chamber announces city parade winners

WEIRTON – The Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce held the annual Christmas parade Saturday, and the parade winners are as follows:

First, commercial float, West Virginia Northern Community College.

Second, commercial, Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort.

Third, commercial, Weirton Christian Center.

First, non-commercial float, Weirton Moose Lodge 688 and Women of the Moose Chapter 746.

Second, non-commercial, Krazy Bout Sportz and Piece by Peace.

Third, non-commercial, Cub Scout Pack 334.

First, decorated vehicle or specialty unit, Osiris Shrine Hillbilly Clan 154.

Second, specialty, Osiris Shrine Tin Lizzie Patrol.

Third, specialty, Doane Family Enterprise doing business as McDonald’s.

First, performance group, Generations of Steppas.

Second, performance, Brenda Casey Dance Center.

Third, performance, Weir High School Marching Band.

Best band sound, Brooke High School Band.

Trophies may be picked up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, beginning Monday, at the chamber offices located at 3174 Pennsylvania Ave.

The parade sponsors included First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union, Nick’s Auto Sales, Weirton Medical Center and West Virginia Northern Community College. The fireworks sponsors included Hancock County Savings Bank, MedExpress Urgent Care, Mon Power, Marsh Supply Inc. and Doane Family Enterprise doing business as McDonald’s.
