Boil order issued in Weirton following line maintenance
WEIRTON – A boil order has been issued in the Marland Heights section of Weirton following water line maintenance this week.
Today, crews from the Weirton Area Water Board replaced four valves in the Marland Heights area. Under regulations from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the state Bureau of Public Health, a boil order must be issued.
The boil order affects those along Bright Way, from Elmhurst Drive to Courtland Road, as well as on Hanlin Way, Claremont Place and Barone Drive.
Those in the affected areas are advised to boil their water for one minute, then let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and food preparation until further notice, according to a release from the water board.
