Sheriff’s department announces drug arrest in Weirton

WEIRTON – The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest Tuesday of James “Timmy” Noel, 34, of 433 Cove Road on drug manufacturing and distribution charges.

Information provided by the sheriff’s department stated a deputy was in the process of serving a summons on Noel for drug-related charges out of Licking County, Ohio. After noting the alleged smell of marijuana and drug-related items, the deputy requested assistance from the Weirton Police Department and the Hancock, Brooke, Weirton HIDTA Task Force.

According to Hancock County Sheriff Ralph Fletcher, approximately 2 pounds of marijuana was seized, as well as packing and distribution materials, psilocybin mushrooms and items used in the production and growth of marijuana.

Noel is being charged with two counts of manufacturing marijuana and one count of intent to deliver.

He currently is being housed in the Northern Regional Jail to await arraignment. No bond has been set at this time.
