Kiwanis plans radio auction

WEIRTON – The 63rd-annual John B. Sorrenti Radio Auction, held by the Weirton Kiwanis Club, is set for April 26.

The auction will be broadcast on WEIR 1430-AM radio, with more than 100 items, at a value of more than $4,600, donated by Tri-State Area businesses and individuals to be auctioned.

According to Weirton Kiwanis President Rik Rekowski, the list of items up for grabs will be published in The Weirton Daily Times on April 20 and 24, as well as being made available on the newspaper’s website.

Bids for the auction can be made by calling (304) 723-1444 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26.

Telephone bids will be taken by members of the Weirton Kiwanis Club, with proceeds to support the club’s projects.

In addition, each person calling in a bid will be offered a free guess to identify a “mystery voice.” Correct guesses will be eligible to win one of two $25 cash prizes donated by the Sorrenti family.

Following the auction, items will be available for pickup on April 28 at Hancock County Savings Bank’s Three Springs Drive office.
