Reports: Film could have rape case as background
HOLLYWOOD – Reports in entertainment publications Wednesday indicated that Brad Pitt and Plan B Entertainment were teaming up to produce a movie with the Steubenville rape case as the background.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the proposed film will be based on the article “Anonymous vs. Steubenville” that appeared in the Rolling Stone. Reports said the film would focus on the work of Deric Lostutter and Anonymous and attempts to expose an alleged cover-up of incidents surrounding the case.
The film will reportedly focus on Lostutter’s life and his role in the “hacktivist” group Anonymous. It will be based on a profile written by David Kushner
Lostutter, whose home was raided by the FBI, faces years in prison for his alleged role in hacking computers in connection with the case.
Recent work involving Pitt and Plan B has included the film “12 Years a Slave,” which recently won the Best Picture Oscar.
