App allows you to read the Daily Times anywhere
STEUBENVILLE – When we launch our electronic edition app Thursday, readers of The Weirton Daily Times will have a fourth way to enjoy the newspaper that has served the residents of the Tri-State Area since 1928.
The app, which is available in the app stores for Apple and Android tablets and smartphones, makes the entire newspaper available for subscribers.
Readers will be able to read every story of every page of the print version of the newspaper regardless of their geographic location. Readers can flip through the pages, view the newspaper in gallery fashion or view stories in an easy to navigate grid. Once downloaded, the newspaper can be viewed without an Internet connection
A link has been added to the upper right hand corner of the home page to download the tablet app.
Simply use the “Get me my Daily Times” link on either the website or the app to get a password to give you unlimited access to both.
Once subscribers validate their account, they will have All Access to every page of every edition of each day’s newspaper.
We’re making it easy for subscribers to validate their accounts and get started enjoying their daily paper on any platform they choose – their PC, their laptop, their smart phone or their tablet. The newspaper is holding a kickoff event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at our 401 Herald Square, Steubenville, location.
Staff members will be on hand to take subscribers through the simple process during the event, which will include refreshments. The first 25 people who validate their accounts at the newspaper office on either day will receive an All Access T-shirt as well as having instant access to our electronic edition,
In addition, everyone who activates their All Access accounts at the newspaper on either day will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win two tickets for the June 28 Steubenville-Weirton Community Day game between the Pirates and New York Mets in PNC Park.
If you are not a current subscriber, you can click on the subscribe link to subscribe to both the print and online versions of The Weirton Daily Times.
“The addition of a tablet app was a logical next step for the Daily Times,” said Publisher Alex Marshall. “Readers now can access the same newspaper regardless if they are on their porch or traveling far away from the Tri-State Area. We are very committed to serving our readers wherever they may be, and this is a great step toward delivering what our readers expect – wherever they may be.”
An iPhone and Android app remains available for The Weirton Daily Times, giving readers an executive summary of the top stories of the day.
