Weirton police in search of suspects

WEIRTON Weirton police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects captured by surveillance cameras in two separate cases.

A white male broke into the Diner on Main Street at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday and took an undetermined amount of money from a cash register inside, according to Lt. Greg Moodie.

In a separate investigation, on May 9, a black male was captured on video using a stolen credit card to purchase cigarettes at Smoker’s Choice on Pennsylvania Avenue. Later that day he used the card again at Kroger on St. Thomas Drive, according to Weirton detectives. The suspect is seen exiting the driver’s seat of an older model, light-colored, four-door Chevy Lumina in one of the videos.

Anyone with information related to these crimes or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Weirton Police Department.
