Sanitary board OKs equipment purchases
WEIRTON – The Weirton Sanitary Board approved two equipment purchases and discussed an upcoming project at their regular meeting Thursday.
Members unanimously voted to replace a Cornell pump impeller and the existing JWC bandscreen grinder, which will cost $9,889 plus shipping. They also voted to approve the payment of the annual permit fee and ground water protection fee to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and approved the next fiscal year’s workers’ compensation premium.
Kevin Board, secretary, reported that the staff and supplies are ready to repair the drainage issues at the Church of Christ on Colliers Way. The existing Colliers Way Bridge is set for demolition sometime this month, after which the rubble will be used to fill a hole that exposed a main pipeline behind the church. Staff is waiting for the material to be delivered once the bridge is leveled.
