Washington fair in full swing now

WASHINGTON, Pa.- The Washington County Agricultural Fair continues from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds located at 80 N. Main St.

The theme is “Treasure the Memories.”

The fair schedule is as follows:

Today

1 p.m., The Kitchen Band in the show tent.

3 p.m., bluegrass ban Navada performs in the show tent.

4 p.m., market hog show in the show arena.

5 p.m., Pioneer Cloggers in the show tent.

6:30 p.m., South Hills Keystone Barbershop Chorus in the show tent.

7 p.m., pro stock tractors and hot semis in the grandstands.

8 p.m., karaoke with Jay Huss in the show tent.

Tuesday

9 a.m., poultry show and showmanship in the poultry barn.

9 a.m., 4-H meat rabbit pens and showmanship in the show arena.

9 a.m., open and junior beef cattle in the show arena.

10 a.m., harness racing in the grandstands.

2 p.m., prospect steer and heifer show in the show arena.

5 p.m., bluegrass Foggy Hollow Band performs in the show tent.

6 p.m., market steer show in the show arena.

7 p.m., monster trucks in the grandstands.

8 p.m., rock and blues Sarah Hayes Band performs in the show tent.

Wednesday

8 a.m., light horse and pony halter classes in the show arena.

9:30 a.m., junior dairy clipping in the show arena.

10 a.m., 4-H modeling contest in the show tent.

11:30 a.m., under-8 kiddie dairy showmanship in the show arena.

noon, 4-H and Future Farmers of America dairy showmanship in the show arena.

4 p.m., cheerleading exhibition in the grandstands.

5 p.m., market lamb show in the show arena.

5 p.m., Silver Moon Twirlers in the show tent.

6 p.m., senior high school bands in the grandstands.

8 p.m., country Black Horse Band performs in the show tent.

Thursday

8 a.m., open and junior breeding sheep in the show arena.

9 a.m., 4-H horse and pony show in the grandstands.

2 p.m., lead line contest in the show arena.

6 p.m., premier showmanship contest in the show arena.

Friday

9 a.m., 4-H horse and pony show in the grandstands.

1 p.m., “Animals on the Hoof Dress-Up” contest in the show arena.

2 p.m., Grace Christian Dance Academy in the show tent.

4 p.m., Luanne’s School of Dance in the show tent.

6 p.m., Radio Disney in the show tent.

6 p.m., rabbits and goats market livestock sale in the show arena.

7 p.m., street stock trucks in the grandstands.

8 p.m., oldies and classic rock band Catfish Camp will perform in the show tent.

Saturday

9 a.m., farm tractor pull in the grandstands.

10 a.m., lambs, steers and hogs livestock sale in the show arena.

11 a.m., storyteller Rick Breuning in the show tent.

11 a.m., “Artisans in Action” in the show tent.

4 p.m., country band On the Ridge will perform in the show tent.

5 p.m., Tap’n Toes and All That Jazz in the show tent.

7 p.m., milk-chugging contest in the show arena.

7 p.m., demolition derby in the grandstands.

8 p.m., rock band Shannon and the Merger will perform in the show tent.

Daily admission is $9. Today is senior citizens’ day, and all those 62 and older get in free. Tuesday is Log Cabin Fence day, and admission is $6. Friday is children’s day, and all those 12 and under are free until 4 p.m.

Admission includes rides, petting zoo, entertainment, shows and parking. The rides will be open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
