Hanover body ruled homicide

BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Homicide detectives say a Pittsburgh-area man whose body was found in the woods of a neighboring county had apparently been shot.

The body of 21-year-old Ryan Ramirez was found about 10 p.m. Thursday in Hanover Township, Washington County.

But Allegheny County police say they’re leading the investigation because the evidence so far suggests “the homicide arose from a continuing course of conduct” that started in Allegheny County but ended in Washington County.

Ramirez was from McKees Rocks, a suburb just west of Pittsburgh. Hanover Township is about 20 miles west of McKees Rocks.

Police haven’t said why they think Ramirez was killed or who did it or whether they have any suspects.

Relatives reported Ramirez missing Thursday, but he hadn’t been seen since Monday.
