Warrior Quilt

As part of local observances of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Weirton Medical Center hosted an evening of trivia contests and games Thursday, with a focus on information about breast cancer. During the evening, hospital officials accepted a Warrior Quilt from representatives of Neighborhood Ford Store. The quilt is made from fabric squares decorated during the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure, with messages honoring breast cancer survivors and remembering lost loved ones. Pictured during the quilt presentation are, from left, WMC Director of Communications Kelli McCoy; Rich Galardi, owner of Ohio Valley Ford and a board member of Neighborhood Ford Store; and Nancy Lewis, spokesperson for Neighborhood Ford Store. The blanket will be on display in the hospital, with plans for it eventually to be located in Weirton Medical Center’s planned BreastCare Center. — Craig Howellwmcbreastcare-5-bwcolor
