Police identify teens involved in Steubenville shooting

STEUBENVILLE — Steubenville Police have released the names of the three teenagers who were shot around 11 p.m. Sunday in the area of Ridge Avenue and Carnegie Street.

Tyshawn Jett, 15, of Steubenville was pronounced dead. Kyler Petteway, 14, of Weirton was shot in the upper thigh and Christian Frazier, 16, of Steubenville was shot in the elbow.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Ridge Avenue about shots being fired. The teen who was fatally shot was found near Ridge Avenue, police reported. The two other victims were found on Euclid Avenue and Carnegie Street, police reported.

Police detectives and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to the scene to gather and process evidence. The Jefferson County prosecutor’s office is assisting in the investigation.
