STEUBENVILLE — An evening of baseball and music is on tap for area residents interested in attending the final Community Night of the season sponsored by the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times.

The newspapers’ Pirates Fan Club is sponsoring the event on Aug. 4 at PNC Park, when the Pittsburgh Pirates will take on the San Diego Padres at 7:05 p.m.

The package, at a cost of $75, includes a chartered bus ride to Pittsburgh and an outfield box seat, with a $10 loaded value on the ticket, which can be used for food or souvenirs. Two buses will leave the Herald-Star office building’s parking lot on Dock Street at 4:30 p.m. that day.

The event includes a fan jam postgame concert featuring the rock group Chicago immediately following the game.

No refunds will be available.

“There’s limited seating available,” said Cindy Kotsch, the events coordinator for the newspapers. “So get your tickets ordered now.

“These community day events with the Pirates at PNC Park remain very popular. We have people who have gone to games with us every year. They’re special events,” she added. “We have done four of these community night events this year.”

To reserve tickets, call the newspaper office at (740) 283-4711.
