WEIRTON — For the fourth consecutive year, one area resident is teaming up with the Millsop Community Center to make sure local veterans and their families are able to stay warm throughout the winter months.

Beginning Monday and lasting through Oct. 28, a clothing drive will be held at the center, with donations dropped off at the front desk during regular business hours.

“Residents can drop off gently used clothing items,” Program Director Chris Krishak said. “We just ask that items are bagged or boxed.”

The clothing drive was created by Vietnam veteran Bob Busch, who also is a member of the Millsop Community Center, and said he wanted to find a way to help other veterans, and their families, who might need some assistance.

“The last three years were very successful, and we’re grateful for everyone’s support,” Busch said.

When Busch first started organizing the clothing drive, he had asked about using the Millsop Center as a collection point as it is a central location for the community.

Busch will collect the donations periodically through the week, with all clothing taken to veterans organizations in the area before being distributed.
